Health Care Bill

The President's Proposal for Health ReformOver the past year the House and the Senate have been working on an effort to provide health insurance reform that lowers costs, guarantees choices, and enhances quality health care for all Americans relating to proposed health care legislation. A pair of House Democratic leaders predicted Sunday the final tally on President Barack Obama's historic health care bill will meet or exceed the 216 votes required for passage. But they acknowledged having yet to nail down commitments from a handful of members, some of whom remained concerned about the abortion issue. There are questions over the constitutionality of the bill. For instance, there are clauses in the bill that require individuals to purchase insurance or pay 2% of their income or $750 in fees – which ever is higher.
